We’re getting back on the interview train this month. We’re going to get things kicked off with Saymon Gomez who also has a brand-new release with us called Loco.
Saymon started his DJ career in 1992 at age 16 in Málaga, Spain, quickly establishing himself across the Costa del Sol electronic music scene through hotels, festivals, and major events. After 25 years behind the decks spinning Tech House, Techno, and Hard Techno, he expanded into production in 2017, launching mixing and mastering services and co-founding Saycog Records. His productions have landed on respected labels like Oxytech Planet and Transfiguration Recordings, earning him spots at major festivals including the Málaga Fair and OJEANDO Festival. With over three decades in electronic music, Saymon continues to evolve his sound while staying true to the power and energy that define his performances and productions.
So, with that introduction, let’s jump into the interview.

You’ve been active since 1992—what first drew you into DJing, and what kept you committed through so many eras of electronic music?
The energy of the music and the connection with the audience drew me in from the beginning; I stay motivated because I’m always evolving.
The Costa del Sol scene shaped much of your early career. What made that environment special for a developing DJ?
It was a very diverse environment, with a lot of international influence and many opportunities to learn.
You’ve performed everywhere from intimate venues to major festivals—what’s the key to creating a powerful set regardless of the stage size?
Knowing how to read the audience and accompanying them with the right music at each moment.
With a sound that spans tech house, techno, and hard techno, how do you decide which direction to take when preparing for a performance?
It all depends on the venue, the time, and the atmosphere that’s created that night.
Moving from DJing into music production in 2017 was a big shift—what sparked that transition for you?
I wanted to go further and express my own vision through my music.
How has working across different labels influenced the evolution of your sound over the last several years?
Each label has given me experience and has helped me better define who I am musically.
You collaborate with many artists through mixing and mastering—what do you enjoy most about helping shape someone else’s vision?
Helping the artist’s idea be understood and sound as good as possible.
Saycog Records has become a respected imprint. What motivated you to create a label, and how has it changed your role in the scene?
I was looking for creative freedom and a way to support like-minded artists; now I also have a more curatorial role.
What’s one live performance memory—maybe from OJEANDO or Málaga Fair—that still inspires you today?
The energy of the audience and the connection that’s created in those moments.
After more than 30 years in the industry, what continues to excite you about electronic music?
That new challenges always appear that keep you excited and eager to keep moving forward.
